REBT is a type of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). It is an active-directive therapy, meaning that the therapist is very participative in the session, helping the patient to identify their patterns of unhealthy thinking in order to assist them in feeling and acting better. There is a strong connection between our thoughts, emotions and behaviors. An REBT therapist is an expert in uncovering unhealthy patterns and helping the patient determine new, healthier patterns. An REBT therapist will work with the patient to develop more balanced thinking, healthier emotions, and a more productive life.
